When I was asked to build the website for the Monash Indonesian Islamic Society, it took me a while to think what kind of CMS should I use for it. Then I was thinking that Wordpress might be easier for the website owner and editors alike to administer the website. I knew that wordpress is mainly used for blogging, but I found in Wordpress forum that some people usign it for content management system (CMS) for non blog website. Ahaa. I got an idea. Then I started making mock-up of the web site on the paper and also digging on wordpress forum to find suitable plugins. I designed it durign my spare time in the early Ramadan this year. I didn’t create the theme form a blank code, instead I just tweaked the default Kurbick Theme.
Once it finished, I sent YM to the president of the society, telling him that the website has been built. Soon, he sent an email to the our mailing list, announcing the website.
A few days later, someone from Indonesian Muslim Community of Victoria, approached me to re-design the IMCV website. I said “why not?”. Then I designed its mock-up and implemented using the tweaked theme from the previous one.
